Nokia planning aluminum body for thinner, lighter Lumia 920 successor

Nokia is planning a new line of Lumia Windows Phone devices for 2013. Sources familiar with Nokia's plans have revealed to The Verge that the company is planning to switch to an aluminum construction for at least one high-end Lumia Windows Phone planned for release this year. The change is a move away from Nokia's traditional polycarbonate body for its Lumia devices and will mean the new device, codenamed Catwalk, will be a lot lighter and thinner than the existing Lumia 920.
We understand that Nokia is also planning another two Lumia handsets that will debut as part of a new line up this year. Nokia's Catwalk device is designed as a successor to the Lumia 920 and will debut as a replacement to the company's current Windows Phone 8 flagship with similar internal hardware specifications. A move towards aluminum brings Nokia back to the pre-Windows Phone days when the company launched its first Symbian 3 device, the N8, in a range of vibrant colors. It will also allow the Finnish company to compete against Apple's iPhone size and weight, something that it was unable to do with the polycarbonate body used in the Lumia 920.
Expect to see Nokia's Catwalk device debut later this year.

Nextdoor is Facebook for your neighborhood

Have you bored on facebook??have a try on another social network, which is more interesting than any other ....

Nextdoor is sort of a cross between neighborhood level social networking and a neighborhood watch meeting online. You can sign up for an account if your area is served, set up borders for your particular neighborhood, and then invite your neighbors to join the service. The only caveat is that you have to sign up at least 10 neighbors within the first 21 days to be able to keep the site active for your neighborhood.
The idea is that you and your neighbors can use the site to warn each other about strange characters lurking in the neighborhood, stray animals causing havoc with your trash, or creepy door-to-door salesman. You can also use the service to organize neighborhood activities such as block parties or cleanups.
I suspect if you sign up a number of your neighbors it will also end up being a place for people to complain about those who don’t keep their grass or yard just right. On the other side the service can be used to help people find lost pets and to keep an eye on children as they play with friends in the neighborhood. This is an interesting concept that I can see good and bad things in. It could be a place for people to simply congregate to complain or it could be a place to help get your neighborhood organized and safer.
